In August, Helen Aitkenhead and another seven childminders organised their own Beep Beep! Day.

The week before the event the group did a project on road safety, made maps of the village and coloured in traffic lights among other things.

On the day the group set out roads, practised stop and listen, crossing the roads, and manoeuvring our bodies around obstacles in the local village hall. The children identified traffic sounds and enjoyed a traffic light picnic of red, green and orange fruit and vegetables.

All the children enjoyed their day and went home with a certificate and sticker to show everyone they had joined in. Altogether £206.70 was raised for the charity Brake.
